Note: Us and UN Relif angeney are being sent in the Region. India has deployed a fleet of ships with Bell Helicompters with supplies. My question US has presence in Diago Garcia and they should be able to assist rapidly. Long Range Bell Helicopres will be useful in the operation. Fixed Wing Aircfrat may NOT be very useful at this point. Australian army may be useful for the damage assesment. Since they are familiar with the Papuaga New Guinea and the East and West Idonesia.

Immediate Need: Drinking Water, Blakets and Non Perishable Foods. Also Very Important Satellite Telephone and Portable Generators and Diesel/Gasoline Fuel.

Purification of Drinking Water:
Acording to my understaning:

Contaminated and dirty water can be boiled to 80 Degree centigrade and filterted with common cloth to make driniking water. It is not clear but safe to drink.

Dehydrartion and diarrhea can be prevented by taking equal parts of sugar and salt and addded to clean water. this has effect similar to adding saline drip in vanes.
